Daniel "Fat Daddy" Wayne Kohel, Sr.
Tybee Island- Mr. Daniel Wayne Kohel, 49, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at his residence.
Daniel attended elementary school at St. Michael's Catholic School on Tybee Island and graduated from Sol C. Johnson High School. He was a huge Georgia Fan, loved boating, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Tybee Island Marine Rescue Squadron and St. Michael's Catholic Church. Daniel will be remembered for his delicious deviled crab on Tybee Island. His mother, Jane T. Kohel and brother, Peter "Chip" Williams preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Daniel Wayne Kohel, Jr.; former wife, Angela Kohel; father, Franklin Kohel, all of Tybee Island; sister, Catherine Floyd Lamar of Ridgeland, SC; nephew, Travis Williams of Melbourne, FL and niece, Tracy Behrens, of Bluffton, SC.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 22, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Danny was a wonderful person and great friend. We are going to miss him deeply. Our prayers go out to all his family and loved ones.
